Le Corbusier
 
Charles Edouard Jeannert-Gris, known as LeCorbusier, was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, where he studied architecture.

In 1908 he went to Paris to work in the architectural practice of Auguste Perret.

In 1910, while studying the teaching of design, he met Wolf Dohrn, Peter Behrens and Hermann Muthesius

From 1912 to 1914, he taught at L?Eplattenier?s Nouvelle Section at the La Chaux-de-Fonds art school.

In 1917, he moved to Paris, where he and the painter Am?d?e Ozenfant coined the postcubist Purism movement

LeCorbusiers book -Vers une nouvelle Architecture- was puplished in 1923. He designed the L?Esprit Nouveau pavilion at the 1929 Salon d?Automne which Thonet subsequently produced.

He was a member of the Congr?s Internationaux d?Architecture Moderne and acknowledged as a leading architect to this day.
